There are a lot of people worrying about getting traffic to their websites and 
getting back links to your site maybe your biggest problem. The biggest thing you can do for your website is make sure all of your off page optimization is doing good. The reason why I say this, is because it’s proven that this more important to Google rather then your on page optimization. I have seen many people build garbage websites but were able to rank for the keyword because of their off page optimization. You have to determine how many links you will get on a daily basis. If you have a new site you should aim for 30-40 links a day. If you have a site that is over 3-6months old then you should aim for 50-60 links a day. You should always be getting back links to your website but make sure you start out with a little and then increase links after time.
There are many ways to get back links and some ways are better than others, so you have to test which ones get the best result. The best ways get back links is by having the keyword in the anchor text of your link. There are many different ways of going about back links.

This is the best ways to get your backlinks. there are blackhat ways but its not good for a long term business. This will tremendously help you and you have to worry about how many links you get daily or you will be sandboxed.
